Indeed, U.S.A. is not America!
America is the name of a whole continent. United States of America means that the United States belongs to America and NOT that America belongs to the United States. So, next time you want to refer to The United States of America, you can do it as U.S. or the States or whatever you want but not as only America. Gotcha?
How should I use the term America then?
Here we will show you some wrong and correct uses of the term America:

- The United States is my country and I love it.
- America lost the Vietnam war.
- U.S.A. lost the Vietnam war.

This is just a helpful reminder that the 5 rings of the Olympic flag DOES NOT prove that it is incorrect to call the USA ‘America’. I have noticed that some of you are too simple-minded to understand this. Also, the use of America’s official name during the opening ceremony DOES NOT prove that it is incorrect to call the USA ‘America’.

It has been wrongly used. Misused! As the example I gave long time ago...with the Kleenex being misused as all types of tissue! People often ask for a "Kleenex" even when the tissue's brand is not Kleenex. That is what might have been happening with the name America which is the actual name of the continent but the country made up of the Union of States in the North of the continent has been using it the wrong way just as the people who use the name Kleenex the wrong way.
