America is the name of a whole continent. United States of America means that the United States belongs to America and NOT that America belongs to the United States. So, next time you want to refer to The United States of America, you can do it as U.S. or the States or whatever you want but not as only America. Gotcha?

Dave, for example, is someone who seem to have lost the ability to communicate well so he finds recourse through the only way he knows how to discuss; especially with the one word that seems to be his favorite or maybe he doesn't know how to answer with facts and other historical information. Or perhaps, there is none he can find to argue for his stance.
Europeans also sailed to other parts of America and called it America as well. You don't hear this because it has been wiped of from your history books.
