America is the name of a whole continent. United States of America means that the United States belongs to America and NOT that America belongs to the United States. So, next time you want to refer to The United States of America, you can do it as U.S. or the States or whatever you want but not as only America. Gotcha?
Here we will show you some wrong and correct uses of the term America:
Please, note that this page in not about demonyms (gentilics) but about the way to call a country.

Thanks for all the examples of United Statian being used. I am seeing that name used more often now. More people are using it and talking about it. This site is spreading the word. United Statian is nowhere near as common as American but it’s growing. The more United Statian is used the more influence it will have around the world. Keep up the good work!

How do we learn from other countries, peoples, communities about memory as a practice of becoming more human, a practice of resistance against amnesia as a tool of Empire – with our particular United Statian default settings of tuning out war and often fragmented attention spans?

I will follow the recommendation put forth by Dr. Thomas Holloway and I'll use the term "United Statian" when referring to the people of the States.

So Morgan, did the cites help you accept that your cultural complacency does not help and United Statians come from the northern part of America? or do you need to read more cites from previous pages? or will you blindly adhere to the US tradition?
Please tell us, but don't ask for more. There is enough to read on this site.
Morgan is a clown. Don't give them attention, just ignore them.
I am very glad that my calling out Andy’s plagiarism has led to more people citing their sources. We should all be better than Andy. It’s the right thing to do. Thank you all so much.

Good idea, but this will not be simple. Remember that Google is a United Statian corporation. They're biased. Worse than Wikipedia.
Yeah I was like, they at least recognize that people may consider Australia and others Oceania but when it comes to America they blatantly and arrogantly put NO.
That’s exactly the same as you “blatantly and arrogantly” making the false statement that it is incorrect to call the USA ‘America’. How do you explain your hypocrisy?
People argue that calling the USA as "America" isn't arrogant and it is not malicious, but then why the US proposed to rename itself as a United States of Earth in 1893?
The whole US government didn’t propose and support this. It was proposed by one representative. It never got close to becoming a reality because there was nowhere near enough support for it. Stop pretending that the ridiculous ideas of a very tiny minority represent the views of the entire government or of most Americans.

The Myths that Makes America.
And
American Foundational Myths by Gunter Narr Verlgag, I couldn't find any open link for this one but it is interesting.
At the time, the majority of Mexican migrants would enter the United States for work, travel with the harvest seasons, and return to Mexico rather than settling in the U.S. (Chomsky 2014, 10). In fact, after the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 the U.S. increased its dependence on Mexican labor (Chomsky 2014, 120). The expectation was that Mexican workers—unlike Chinese workers—would not remain in the U.S. and have United Statian families. They composed a flexible and expedient core of workers within the dual-labor system.
Interesting, do you have more information of this? If not, don't worry.
Found it!!
It is in a thesis from Vanderbilt University.
Lopez, E. (2016) "What it means to be an Undocumented Worker in the United States", Tennessee, 56 pages.
Approved by Lesley Gill, Ph.D., and William Frank Robinson, Ph.D.
True, it refers to United Statian families.
Oh, thanks!
