USA is not America

Indeed, U.S.A. is not America!

America is the name of a whole continent. United States of America means that the United States belongs to America and NOT that America belongs to the United States. So, next time you want to refer to The United States of America, you can do it as U.S. or the States or whatever you want but not as only America. Gotcha?

America

How should I use the term America then?

Here we will show you some wrong and correct uses of the term America:

  • This is how we do it in America.
  • This is how we do it in the States.
  • America is my country and I love it.
  • The United States is my country and I love it.
  • America lost the Vietnam war.
  • U.S.A. lost the Vietnam war.
  • Here in America we love Mc Donald's.
  • Here in the U.S. we love Mc Donald's.

Please, note that this page in not about demonyms (gentilics) but about the way to call a country.

Remember when Mrs. Roda Saris Anonymous argued for months that ‘America’ isn’t a word? And of course she didn’t post any links to reputable sources that supported her claim. Because there are no reputable sources that support her claim. Because her claim is complete BS. Remember how I posted many links that proved the obvious fact that ‘America’ is a word? That’s how you do it, kids. That’s how you completely and very easily destroy an obviously ridiculous “argument”.

Yes, crazy biased, ignorant, and simple-minded. In other words, your standard operating procedure.

STUPID RIDICULOUS DAVID, STOP SPAMMING THE WEBSITE WITH YOUR STUPID IGNORANCE.

Thanks Mrs. Saris for your great shared knowledge that actually contributes coherently to the topic.

Spammers like the anormal idiot who will never comprehend and are stocked within their locked Parkinsonized brain are needed in this world to full fill our desire to explode our anger every time we are in pleasure to do so.

Thanks to you STUPID DAVID as well because of this and still have to let you know that your responses greatly makes me vomit.

Anytime that I wish to vomit I will come back to this website and read your comments and responses.

You cannot disprove one thing that I have posted. Where are your facts? Show me one reputable source that says ‘the United States of America’ is not a proper name. It was easy for me to find proof that it is a proper name. Where is your proof that it isn’t? We both know that you will not find proof of your claims because what you post is BS. This is really easy. If your statements are true, provide links to the sources. This is what I do. This is how I very easily destroy your so-called arguments. RESEARCH AND THINK, PAYASO.

Saris Maria(United States)says...

Words usually have a root meaning and America has one; the continent named after Amerigo Vespucci. Now, those who say that America can have different meanings, explain what is the root for the name America in the name fo the United States of America? Or in other words, where did U.S. took the word America from? Most words come from other roots and so it is important to note that America has only one root/source ie..the continent. When The United States added America in its name, it did not choose it for some other meaning for the word America like if america meant a flower or something, NO! The United States used the name "America" because it meant the continent in which the United States were founded.

Saris Maria(United States)says...

Rumor has it that the original plan for the United States was to expand as much as they possible could throughout the continent and thus the name "United States of America" would had fit well with the expansion. It did happen but only to the west of the North of America. Why? Because Mexico put up a good fight not to be annexed to the growing United States, otherwise the original plan would had been successful in extending its dominion down to probably South America.
